A successor to the Kata i1 smartphone is coming soon. Aptly named as the Kata i2, it sports a 5-inch display with qHD resolution, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

There’s an Amazon listing selling the device for $249. Price in the Philippines is Php10,990(Why?) with an introductory of only Php7,990. the Kata Digital website has already posted the official specs of the Kata i2. Besides the attributes mentioned above, feature highlights include a 2-megapixel front camera with video call support, 2200mAh Li-Po battery (non-removable), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and storage expansion of up to 32GB. Weighing at only 150g, its dimensions are 143.3 x 9.4 x 71.8mm.

Like when it touted its FishTab 3 slate, Kata boasts its i2 smartphone as a pleasure to the eyes and conveniently portable. Specially designed apps are available at the Kata’s app store called Fish Market. There’s also the bundled FishTune app for seamlessly syncing photo, videos, and other files from the computer to the Kata i2.
