We’ve already seen the Galaxy S4 Mini before and we all know that it is bound to happen. Last week, Samsung announced the Galaxy Core which, as expected, borrows the design of the Galaxy S4.

In a previous report, the specs were also mentioned and this coincides with the current information we’re getting. But still, nothing’s official until we see the announcement from Samsung so take this with a grain of salt. Oh, the pictures are for real though so it’s worth drooling for.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is said to have a small 4.3-inch qHD (960×540) Super AMOLED display, 1.6GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and either 5 or 8-megapixel main camera. The specs were significantly dumbed down by a few notches from Samsung’s flagship this year. For aesthetics, the Galaxy S4 Mini is around 8mm thin, just 0.1 thicker than the GS4. The only thing I liked about this handset is that it will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.

Going for a smaller smartphone eventually mean that you need to settle to less powerful specs which I really find absurd. If you want top of the line specifications, you need to cope up with the larger smartphones trend as that is what the market gives us.

Samsung’s usage of the ‘Mini’ brand isn’t great either. For example, Samsung made the Galaxy S3 Mini but a number of other Samsung android phones inherited the design of last year’s flagship as well so there’s really nothing special in it. I hope that someday we’ll see flagship specifications on smaller devices too because there are people who just can’t handle monstrous phones.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is expected to launch in June or July but there’s no mention of pricing yet. What do you guys think about the GS4 Mini?
