It’s been a while since we’ve covered a local tablet, so here’s one that’s on our radar right now: the Torque Droidz Mini Q. For Php7,699, it’s a 7.85-inch Android slate with a quad-core processor and 3G connectivity.
The Torque Droidz Mini Q is one of the few available tablets that not only sends/receives text messages but allows phone calls as well. Plus, it is dual-SIM capable, so users can make use of two mobile numbers in one device.
In terms of design, the Torque Droidz Mini Q stands out with its unique appearance instead of resembling a more popular tablet (a la the Droidz Mini D as an iPad mini look-alike). Performance, meanwhile, should be quite sufficient thanks to a quad-core processor, PowerVR GPU, and 1GB of RAM. The main camera is also notable for its 8-megapixel sensor, which I suppose would be great for anyone who dares to take pictures using a tablet.
