Well, that didn’t take long. In response to the recently released affordable yet powerful phones by international brands, Cherry Mobile has revealed a new smartphone that presents a serious bang for the buck. It’s the new Cherry Mobile Cosmos Two.

According to Cherry Mobile, their Cosmos series of smartphones stands for premium design and specs. Our reviews for the Cosmos Z and Cosmos One Plus do agree in that remark. But with the announcement of the Cherry Mobile Cosmos Two, the company now aims to make the series more affordable and competitive against the likes of the Lenovo A7000 and Alcatel Flash Plus.

Cherry Mobile Cosmos Two Specs

Does the Cherry Mobile Cosmos Two have what it takes to beat the competition? It seems so. For one, it’s got a MediaTek MT6732 running under the hood. This chipset offers a 1.5GHz quad-core processor (based on ARM Cortex-A53), Mali-T760 graphics and 4G LTE connectivity. In addition, the phone offers 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM and a 5-inch display with IPS LCD panel and Gorilla Glass scratch protection.

If those specs aren’t enough, the Cherry Mobile Cosmos Two features a 14-megapixel main camera with backside illumination and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It supports USB On the Go and has dual SIM slots.

The Cherry Mobile Cosmos Two will retail for Php5,499. The word is that this smartphone will be ready for sale this weekend.
