Though it launches high-end devices every now and then, Starmobile’s smartphone release this time is one that focuses on high-speed surfing with affordability in mind. The new Starmobile Vida is a 3.5-inch Android KitKat smartphone with 3G HSPA+ connectivity for just Php2,490.

When you’re just after high-speed Internet access, the Starmobile Vida looks like a promising smartphone. Equipped with HSPA+, this handset can reach up to 21.1Mbps download speed. It’s also configured with dual SIM slots, so you can make use of two networks for your Internet needs. (On a side note, Talk ‘n Text is offering PisoNet or Php1 for 10 minutes of Internet access.)

The other specs of the Starmobile Vida are what you can expect from an entry-level device. There’s a dual core processor running under the hood, along with Mali 400 graphics and 512MB RAM. They’re modest at best, but the preinstalled Android KitKat should keep at least everything smooth. The Vida also offers 4GB of internal storage, up to 32GB expansion via microSD, and the typical connectivity options.
