Google Nexus 7 Philippines
A new mystery LG android phone gets outed in the wild. Google I/O is not too far now and we’re still not sure if there will be a Nexus 4 follow-up or a new android version to be announced there but it’s likely as that’s what Google do every year.
We just found out that SMART Communications will officially be carrying both Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 in the Philippines. The Google Nexus 4, which is a tie-up between Google and LG, was recently launched just the end of October so it’s really a good thing that it will reach our country before the holiday season.
Thinking of which tablet to get this Christmas? Well, if you’re still undecided, then you might want to watch this drop test video between the iPad Mini, Nexus 7, and the iPad 3. This test was done by SquareTrade, a gadget-warranty company which is known for doing such tests on new devices. What’s really interesting here is they now have a machine to do the drop so that every gadget will suffer the same impact.
Google’s most sought after tablet, the Nexus 7, will soon arrive in the Philippines courtesy of Asus. What’s even better is that it will only retail for Php13,999! Yes, it’s cheaper than everybody has expected so this is definitely a good development for Filipinos. If you’re not aware, the 8GB will be replaced by the 32GB so the price of the Nexus 7 16GB is now $199 while the Nexus 7 32GB will hold the $249 price point.
Although the Google event for the official announcement of the new slew of Nexus devices was postponed, Google decided to go on and unveil the full specs and features of the LG Nexus 4, Nexus 10, and Nexus 7 3G. Of course, we can take it as a response to Microsoft’s unveiling of the Windows Phone 8 so that they can take some spotlight over their competitor.
Anyone remember The Perfect Storm from 2000? Well, it was a movie based on a real life storm of epic proportions, and Hurricane Sandy, which is the storm that’s hammering New Jersey and the surrounding areas, promises to be much, much worse. It’s so bad, they’re even calling it Frankenstorm. LOL. All silliness aside, the reason I mention this is because Google’s Nexus event that was scheduled today has been cancelled because of the sheer epicness of Hurricane Sandy. Want to know just how bad? Here’s a comparison between Sandy and Irene:
Google to Hold Android Event on October 29 for 32Gb and 3G Models of Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and LG Nexus 4October 23, 2012 | JM Balicano
While there are a bunch of us folks who are eagerly awaiting the iPad Mini announcement on October 23 (today!), Google will be hosting its own event on October 29, probably in an effort to steal some thunder away from Microsoft, which just so happens to be launching Windows Phone 8 on the same day. As always, there are a bunch of rumors surrounding this big event, but most believe that it will be to launch the 32Gb version of the Nexus 7, as well as a 3G version that people have been clamoring for.
The pioneer device sporting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google Nexus 7 has finally arrived in the Philippines. Announced way back in Google I/O, this device got numerous positive feedbacks because of its good specs and excellent price. This tablet was made in partnership of Google and Asus in line to the next Android update. As we all know, every new Nexus device brings in an upgrade to Android.
