Meizu has announced a new set of headphones that sport an over-the-ear design—the HD50.

Simply put, the Meizu HD50 headphones are gorgeous. The exterior screams a metal design, whereas the ear cushions feature a soft leather covering for comfort. The 1.2-meter cable is detachable, so you can easily replace it with another when it breaks or stops working due to wear and tear. (A little trivia here: the cable tends to be the most delicate part of a headphone). When not in use, you can safely store the headphones inside the included hard-padded pouch.

Weighing 228g, the Meizu HD50 headphones is lightweight and comfortable to use for extended periods. The frequency range, sensitivity and impedance are 20Hz-20,000Hz, 103±3dB (1mW at 1kHz), and 32 ohms, respectively. Two audio plug adapters are available.

Similar to the Xiaomi Mi Headphones, the Meizu HD50 promises premium features while maintaining a very attractive price. It costs CNY 399 (approximately Php2,950) and is currently available in China. For us here in the Philippines, we’ll probably have to wait for official reseller Novo7 Tech to sell the headphones.
