If the quirky, bulky designs of past Samsung wearables have put you off from donning one, it’s time to give the company and its products a second chance. The new Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic feature a refreshing, circular face—and they truly look beautiful.

That’s probably because, by utilizing a circular design, the Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic smartwatches look just like regular watches. Most of Samsung’s other offerings have rectangular faces. The change in design also means an overhaul in the interface and functionality. Apps and visual elements blend well with the round screens, which measure 1.2 inches in diameter. User input can be done via the touchscreen, but the rotating bezel offers a unique, alternative approach.

While they have a kind of Android Wear vibe, the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic run Samsung’s Tizen operating system. A 1GHz dual core processor is found inside each device.

Different people have different tastes. As such, the Samsung Gear S2 offers a minimal, modern design, whereas the Gear S2 Classic comes with a timeless leather band. The smartwatches further vary according to connectivity options. One model makes use of Bluetooth and WiFi, and its usefulness is greatly reduced when it’s not within the range of its paired smartphone. Another model is much more independent by utilizing 3G connectivity.

The Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic will set users back at 349 and 399 euros (approx. Php18,190 and Php20,780), respectively. They will be available sometime in October.
