While global smartphone shipments continue to drop, HONOR managed to pull impressive growth in several markets that include Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.

According to market research firm Counterpoint Research, HONOR‘s aggressive expansion in Europe resulted in a whopping 400% yearly growth in terms of shipments.

It is worth noting that HONOR parted ways with Huawei only in November 2020 and made its comeback to Europe in October 2021. HONOR has also instantly built partnerships with some of the biggest mobile operators in Europe like Orange, Wind Tre, and Vodafone.

Counterpoint noted that the HONOR 50 and 70 series midrange phones were responsible for the brand’s growth in the said region last year. The HONOR X series was also popular in Eastern Europe and Italy, while the flagship Magic series caught the attention of Western Europeans.

HONOR also saw massive growth in the Middle East and Africa at 500% YoY. In fact, the company is now in the top five brands in terms of shipments across Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

In addition, the company saw its strongest shipments in Latin America for Q1 with a 700% YoY increase.

Analysts at Counterpoint Research expect HONOR to continue to grow in more key markets across the world. The upcoming growth figures have a probability of dip compared to current numbers, but the brand is expected to keep a steady increase in shipments.
