The HONOR Magic8 Pro has been released in China, packing some serious hardware and a dedicated AI Button.
Like the vanilla Magic8, the HONOR Magic8 Pro has been upgraded to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, with up to 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.
The battery department got a substantial upgrade. From the Magic6 Pro‘s 5,600mAh, we now have an enormous 7,200mAh battery.
HONOR has also upgraded the charging speed to match it. From 80W, the wired charging is now increased to 120W. The 66W wireless charging was also increased to 66W.
The company has added a new AI Button that quickly summons AI features. A long-press also lets you perform other actions. HONOR also upgraded its YOYO assistant with more features thanks to AI.
These are part of the MagicOS 10 AI that’s based on Android 16. The best part is, HONOR has extended the software support with 7 major OS upgrades.
For the screen, we have a 6.71-inch 2.8K LTPO OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and is protected by Rhino Glass. A pill-shaped notch holds the 50-megapixel selfie camera and ToF 3D depth sensor for the face unlock.
Photography is a big deal here, as with most flagship phones. Hence, HONOR has upgraded the 180-megapixel telephoto camera with a 200-megapixel 1/1.4-inch sensor that offers 3.7x zoom and OIS. It is joined by a 50-megapixel primary lens and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide.
The HONOR Magic8 Pro launches in China with a price of CNY5,699 (~Php46,500) for the 12GB/256GB, CNY5,999 (~Php48,900) for the 12GB/512GB, CNY6,199 (~Php for the 16GB/512GB, while the 16GB/1TB retails for CNY6,699. Global release details are yet to be known.
