Smart Communications, Inc. concluded 2025 with strong results after posting a 5% revenue growth in the fourth quarter. This growth marks a recovery from a 2% revenue decline reported at the end of the first quarter.

The company’s turnaround was driven by higher Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) resulting from personalized digital promotions. Smart Prepaid ARPU rose by 5%, while the mass-market brand TNT saw a 3% increase.

In terms of growth, Smart added 606,079 net new subscribers in the final quarter of the year, maintaining a 2.5% churn rate.

Moreover. network performance and 5G expansion were central to the company’s 2025 results. There are 11.2 million devices now active on the network, which is a 35% year-on-year increase. Data traffic has increased as 5G data usage surged by 88%, driven by more affordable 5G smartphones.

Meanwhile, revenue from 5G wireless routers grew 22% to P1.8 billion. Smart also received the ‘Best Mobile Latency’ award from Ookla for the first half of 2025, highlighting its responsiveness for gaming and streaming.

Smart intends to continue investing in network quality and scaling 5G services to meet the demands of the Philippines’ expanding digital economy.

Marjorie C. Garrovillo, FVP and co-officer-in-charge, emphasized that the company’s priority remains delivering the reliable connectivity required to power the nation’s evolving digital economy.
