Many smartphone and computer makers have already announced price hikes due to the ongoing RAM shortage. Now, Apple is expected to follow suit.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the outgoing Apple CEO confirmed that their product will soon face price hikes amid the price hikes the industry is facing.

“Unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable,” said Tim Cook, explaining that, while they’ve been doing their best “to mitigate the huge increases” passed to them, and how they’ve been “trying to shield” customers from the increases, the situation has become unsustainable.

Sadly, Cook has not provided the specifics as to which devices will be hit by the hikes and when they will be implemented. Chances are, we’ll see them on the upcoming iPhone 18 lineup.

Apple has done a commendable job of keeping new iPhone prices on par with previous generations. That streak, however, may come to an end with the 2026 models.
