8BitDo has revealed its latest gaming controller, the Arcade Controller Pro. This is a follow-up to the button-based pad the company released last year.
The new 8BitDo Arcade Controller Pro is built with competitive players in mind. It keeps the same rectangular shape as its predecessor, but the buttons are now smaller and placed closer together. This change is meant to make the layout more comfortable for fast-paced matches.

The biggest addition is a small screen on the device. This display shows your current button inputs, battery level, and lets you adjust settings without needing to plug into a computer.
8BitDo also added a fifth programmable button on the left side. The previous version only had four. This extra button gives players more flexibility when setting up their controls.
Players can swap out the switches inside the controller to change how the buttons feel. The button caps are also interchangeable. 8BitDo includes flat caps that can replace the programmable buttons to prevent accidental presses during intense moments.

For those who want to go further, the company’s software lets you remap buttons and record macros. This gives players full control over how the controller responds.
You can use the controller with a cable or wirelessly. For wired play, there is a locking mechanism that keeps the USB cord from coming loose. The cable can plug in from either the top or the side.

Wireless options include a 2.4GHz dongle for PC and Bluetooth for the Nintendo Switch. With the lights turned off, the battery should last about 15 hours per charge.
The package also includes a magnetic wrist rest for added comfort. The controller comes in two color options: white and the N Edition style.
The 8BitDo Arcade Controller Pro is now available for purchase directly from 8BitDo’s website. It is priced at $61.99 (~Php3,600).
