Samsung has unveiled a new M-series smartphone in India, the Samsung Galaxy M47. Like other devices in this series, it may never arrive in the Philippines.
The Samsung Galaxy M47 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Keeping the lights on is a 6,000mAh battery, pretty acceptable for this time. It is paired with 45W wired charging. It also has bypass charging support, allowing you to continue playing games without suffering from overheating while plugged in.
Like most Samsung phones, the Galaxy M47 benefits from extensive software support, possibly the best in the Android space. It will receive 6 generations of OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches, on top of the Android 16-based One UI 8.5 interface it already ships with.
On the front, there’s a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with an apt FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. A 12-megapixel selfie camera is on top, while the rear has the 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, 5-megapixel ultra-wide, and 2-megapixel macro.
In terms of durability, the Galaxy M47 has a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front. It is also IP64 dust and water-resistant, drop-resistant from up to 2m, and is now 4x scratch-resistant.
The Samsung Galaxy M47 has a starting price of INR22,999 (~Php14,900) in India.
