Amazon did not detail the reason for the increase, but streaming services worldwide have been raising rates to cover original content and licensing costs. Prime Video has been investing in local Filipino productions.

Even after the hike, Prime Video remains cheaper than Netflix’s standard plan at Php349 per month and Disney+ at around Php299 monthly. The seven-day free trial for new subscribers is unchanged.
