Apple has finally given the iPad mini its most needed upgrade with the new 2026 model.
The new iPad mini 2026 is the first mini with an OLED panel. It’s an 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR panel with a 2K resolution, but sadly, only with a 60Hz refresh rate. No ProMotion still.
Powering the device is the latest Apple A19 Pro chipset. That’s the same one found on the latest iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, and Apple’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo.
It’s a 2nm chip with up to 4.93GHz clock speed. The 128GB and 256GB models have a 5-core CPU and 16-core Neural Engine, while the 512GB variant has a 6-core CPU and dual 16-core Neural Engine.
You then get an 18.9Wh battery with 20W USB-C charging. Of course, Apple Intelligence and Siri AI are also here. Apple also hid the stereo speakers behind the display and called it “Acoustic Display”.
Also here are stereo speakers, WiFi 7 with Apple N1 chip, 5G with Apple C2 modem, IP67-rated durability, and Apple Pencil Pro support. A 12-megapixel Center Stage camera is on the front, while the rear has the 12-megapixel main shooter with an f/1.8 aperture.
The iPad mini 2026 is now listed on the Apple Philippines website. The 128GB model retails for Php49,990, the 256GB for Php56,990, while the 512GB is at Php70,990.
