Fitness technology company Garmin has unveiled a new wearable designed to track your sleep. The device, called the Garmin Index Sleep Monitor, is a soft band worn on the upper arm to gather detailed information about your night’s rest.

Unlike a smartwatch, this product is built specifically for sleep. It collects data to give users a comprehensive view of their sleep quality and how well their body is recovering. This is particularly useful for people who prefer not to wear a watch to bed.

The Garmin Index Sleep Monitor band monitors several key health metrics overnight. It tracks stages of sleep, heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, breathing patterns, and even changes in skin temperature. Each morning, it compiles this information to generate a simple sleep score between 0 and 100.

A significant advantage of the band is its battery performance. Garmin states it can run for up to a full week on a single charge, even while continuously monitoring blood oxygen saturation.

All the collected information is sent to the Garmin Connect app on your smartphone. There, it can be paired with data from a Garmin smartwatch worn during the day. This creates a full picture of your daily energy levels, known as Body Battery, and overall stress.

The device also features a smart alarm. Instead of a jarring sound, it vibrates gently to wake you up during a period of light sleep within a chosen timeframe, which can help you feel more alert.

For women, the skin temperature data offers additional insights. It can help provide more accurate predictions for menstrual cycles and ovulation.

The Garmin Index Sleep Monitor comes in two sizes, and its fabric band is machine washable. It is now available in the Philippines for Php10,290. You can find it through Garmin’s official stores on online shopping platforms like Lazada and Shopee, or at physical Garmin retail locations.
