Meta has introduced a new AI gadget called the Muse Charm. This device features an AI virtual pet that lives on a small screen. The announcement happened during the Meta Connect 26 event, right after the company showed its virtual reality glasses and audio device.
The Muse Charm is a small silver square with a screen on the front. It has thick black borders and a rounded shape. A small strap is on the bottom to make it easy to carry. The device does not have physical buttons. Instead, it uses a touchscreen. There is also a microphone at the top so you can talk to the AI. Unlike some other AI tools, this device does not have a camera.
This is a new type of product for Meta. It is an AI wearable that you do not have to wear on your face. Mark Zuckerberg said the device is not ready for sale yet. However, Meta expects to launch it before the Christmas holidays. The price might be lower than Meta’s smart glasses.
The Muse assistant is also being added to other Meta products. The company will put Muse into its smart glasses so they can hear voice commands and see the world. There will also be a Muse app for macOS to help with computer tasks.
It is not yet known if the Muse Charm will be as successful as the Rabbit R1 or the Humane AI Pin. However, the Muse software is already very effective at helping with daily activities.
