HONOR has officially launched the new HONOR X9d in the Philippines with many promises of improvements over its predecessors.
Many of those promise is found on the durability department. But how well did the HONOR X9d actually matured than the previous model?

We’ll be comparing it to the HONOR X9c to appreciate how far the series have come and to also guide existing users if they should upgrade to the newer model. Let’s start.

HONOR always elaborate how durable their phones are. Hence, it’s no surprise that they made the HONOR X9d tougher than before. With its IP69K rating, the device can handle tougher water exposure (high temperature, high pressure, rains, and more) and exposure against dust.
What’s more, the structure is more resilient against drops at higher lengths.

It also got a substantial battery upgrade. The 8,300mAh battery is now 1,700mAh bigger than its predecessors. In fact, it’s easily one of the biggest batteries you can find on any smartphone — cheap or expensive — today.
The X9d’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset is also a substantial jump over its predecessor’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1.

What’s more, the newer model also has a much brighter display, ships with a newer operating system, and has newer connectivity features like WiFi 6.
The rest were left untouched, which we’re fine with considering how good they already are. Its got the same fast charging, cameras, stereo speakers, and RAM and storage.

Bottomline is, the HONOR X9d is a substantial upgrade over the HONOR X9c, which makes the Php1,000 price hike worth it. However, there’s no solid reason to upgrade if you’re coming from the X9c.
But if you’re coming from an older device and is looking to upgrade in the sub-Php20,000 category, then this should be one of your considerations.
The HONOR X9d has an SRP of Php17,999 in the Philippines
