HUAWEI is taking on the Microsoft Surface tablet with the new MatePad Edge.
The HUAWEI MatePad Edge boasts an enormous 14.2-inch OLED display with a 3K resolution, 1000-nit peak brightness, delta E < 1 color accuracy, a 3:2 aspect ratio for multitasking, and a PaperMatte coating that lessens reflections.
It has a built-in kickstand so you can prop it on the table when you’re tired of holding it. That stand attaches magnetically to a keyboard accessory, allowing you to adjust the tilt, like you normally would on a standard laptop.
That accessory has a built-in haptic trackpad, a place where you can charge a stylus, and a USB-C cable for 65W charging and data transfers.
There are also vents near the kickstand that keep the processor cool. It has liquid cooling and dual fans.
Speaking of, it is powered by either a Kirin X90 or Kirin X90A chip (depending on the RAM and storage), with up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. HUAWEI claims that the new chip can match the Apple M5.
It then has a large 12,900mAh battery, 140W fast charging, a single USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port, and runs on HarmonyOS 5.
A 50-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide are on the back, while the front has a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
