OnePlus and OPPO have opened beta testing for their upcoming Android 16-based operating systems, OxygenOS 16 and ColorOS 16.
Take note that this is not a global roll out yet, so it might be limited to select regions. Eligible device owners can enroll by navigating to Settings > System & Update > Software Update, selecting the three-dot menu, and choosing “Beta Program.”
Supported models include the OPPO Find X8 Series, OPPO Reno14 Series, OnePlus Open, OnePlus 12 Series, and OnePlus 13 Series. Upon checking some of our devices, it looks like PH units are not included for now.
While the open betas allow early exploration of interface upgrades and performance enhancements, participants are advised to back up data and use secondary devices due to potential instability. Beta versions usually contain bugs which make them unsuitable for primary devices.
OPPO will introduce ColorOS 16 on October 15, followed by OnePlus’ OxygenOS 16 debut on October 16. Details about stable public releases are expected during these events.
