With high anticipation from fans and performance users, realme has finally brought the GT series to the global stage. And from what we’ve experienced with our review unit, we hope the next GTs will also be widely available, too.

Unboxing
One of the highlights of the realme GT 7 Dream Edition is its lavish unboxing experience. It comes in a heavy box, and it feels like we’re opening a luxury watch.

Open it up and it lifts up the top section of the box. A coffee table book detailing the Aston Martin Aramco F1 team and their partnership with realme that inspired the realme GT 7 Dream Edition is the first thing that greets you. There’s also a ribbon below that you can pull for the accessories tucked underneath.

Also here is the metallic SIM ejector tool in the shape of an F1 car. The USB-C cable and 120W SUPERVOOC charger are included in the package as well. The free case has a textured look and feel, which is far superior to the usual cases provided by manufacturers. An Aston Martin logo cutout is in the middle to showcase the one imprinted on the device itself.

It’s not every day that we get to experience unboxing a package like this. From the packaging, accessories, case, and design, the realme GT 7 Dream Edition definitely stands out as a premium and stylish smartphone
Now, let’s see if the device actually delivers.
Design and Build Quality
The review unit we got is the realme GT 7 Dream Edition. It was designed and heavily inspired by the Aston Martin Aramco F1 team and far different from the IceSense Blue and IceSense Black colorway of the standard version.

It features the distinct Aston Martin Racing Green color and design that the Formula 1 team is prominent for. It has a blasted metal-like rear panel that stays clean from fingerprint marks and smudges.
There are yellow-green accents in the power button and the bezels around the camera island and the lenses. I honestly don’t like it that much, but I understand that it adds a bit to its appeal.

Its most distinct aesthetic asset is the iconic silver emblem of Aston Martin in the middle. It is made of a “groundbreaking triple-layer process” of etching, polishing, and coloring as per the product’s web page. Calling it premium wouldn’t really give it justice, as it’s very luxurious and rarely seen in smartphones, especially at this price point.

We also have what realme calls the Aerodynamic Flow Lines Design that pays homage aerodynamics of F1 cars. This textured design gives the realme GT 7 Dream Edition a more premium look that you can feel to the touch.

realme also went above and beyond with the case it came with. Racing fans and car enthusiasts would really love its carbon fiber-like material.
It even has a precision cut to highlight the Aston Martin emblem. Plus, it provides ample protection for the screen and the cameras without adding any bulk or weight. It got some scratches after a few weeks of use, but surprisingly, we were able to wipe them out easily.

While the device feels reasonably thin, it’s definitely not the thinnest at 8.3mm. On the upside, the flat frame helps improve the grip while the smooth edges make it comfortable in the hands.
At 204g, you can definitely feel the weight of the realme GT 7. But that’s forgivable considering how heavier it would’ve been if they didn’t use a high-density silicon-carbon battery.

Now let’s talk about the frame. On the front, we have a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with very thin bezels and a punch-hole for the 32-megapixel selfie camera.

The left side is clean, while the right has the lock/power button and the volume controls. For the price, we expected the physical buttons to be more tactile and clicky. It feels well-made, though.

On top, we have the IR blaster, stereo speaker, and noise-isolating microphones.

The bottom has the primary loudspeaker, USB-C port, microphone, and the SIM tray that can house two nano SIMs back to back. As expected, there’s no microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Without a doubt, it’s primarily the design that will lure people into getting the Dream Edition of the realme GT 7. realme clearly delivered on that department and would definitely appeal to a lot of people, whether you’re a fan of the Aston Martin F1 team or not.
Display and Audio
The realme GT 7 has a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 2780 x 1264 pixel resolution, ~450ppi, 6,000-nit peak brightness, and 1,600-nit under High Brightness Mode. It also has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to 360Hz touch sampling rate, 2600Hz instant touch sampling, DC and 2160Hz PWM dimming, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are also supported.

Display quality was great, as expected from a premium smartphone. Vibrant colors, deep contrast, and ample brightness for both outdoor use and watching HDR content.
The high refresh rate is also felt in the interface and even works in select games. realme has a list of compatible games, and it includes a couple of popular titles like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty: Mobile, League of Legends, Clash Royale, and Wild Rift. We’ll talk about some of them later.

It’s also equipped with good stereo speakers, despite the top speaker being a hybrid one that doubles as the earpiece for calls. The volume is more than enough for solo listening, and stereo separation is audible and has been useful for shooter games.
The bass is ample while the treble is nice and clean with negligible distortion.
Hardware and Performance
The realme GT 7 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9400e octa-core processor with Immortalis-G720 MP12 GPU. The Dream Edition that we have equipped with 16GB of RAM, while the standard GT 7 only has 12GB. Both models have 512GB of storage, though.
realme GT 7 Benchmark Scores

Its glaring benchmark scores reflected on the day-to-day performance, which has been superb and flagship-like. It opens apps at lightning speeds, multitasking is a breeze, and scrolling through social media pages is buttery smooth.
Let’s head to gaming. The first one we tested is Genshin Impact. This demanding game ran smoothly under High settings with stable frame rates and no overheating problems.

Shooter games like PUBG Mobile ran incredibly well under HD graphics and Extreme frames, Call of Duty Mobile on Max settings, and Farlight84 using Extreme and Very High graphics.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang played really well under the highest settings available, as well as Asphalt Legends Unite.

The realme GT 7 handles games with finesse — without breaking a sweat.
Game | Graphics Settings |
Call of Duty: Mobile | • Graphics Quality: Max • Frame Rate: Max |
Farlight84 | • Graphics Quality: Extreme • Frame Rate: Very High |
PUBG Mobile | • Graphics Quality: HD • Frame Rate: Extreme |
Genshin Impact | • Render Resolution: High • Visual Effects: High • FPS: 60 |
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang | • Graphics Quality: Ultra • Frame Rate: Ultra • HD Mode: On |
Asphalt Legends Unite | • Visual Quality: High Quality • Frame Rate: 90 |
Software and Interface
The realme GT 7 runs on Android 15-based realme UI 6.0 and is guaranteed to receive four major OS upgrades and six years of security patches — not the longest support we’ve seen, but it’s definitely up there.

This special Dream Edition model comes with an exclusive theme pack that includes a special boot screen, live wallpaper, app icons, and charging animation — all based on the Aston Martin Aramco F1 team.
If it’s not your cup of tea, there are more themes available in the Theme store.

realme’s NEXTAi features are also here. The AI Planner lets you double-tap the back of the device and let AI scan your screen to instantly extract key information to automatically schedule an event or reminder.
AI Smart Loop is similar to HONOR’s Magic Capsule feature. It lets you drag and drop texts, photos, videos, or any file to a barrel/loop so you can easily transfer it to a different app.

Smart Sidebar gives you quick access to relevant apps via a floating window or split-screen view for multitasking.
Live Alerts is a Dynamic Island-like feature, but only works on Grab, Swiggy, Zomato, music playback, game timer, personal hotspot, and screen recording.

The AI Assistant for Notes lets you format, clean up, polish, and use more AI tools to improve your emails, term papers, and more. AI Summary and AI Speaker will also automatically pop up when you’re reading an article or emails.
AI Eye Comfort that uses the camera to detect eye fatigue and automatically adjusts to a fitting screen color temperature is available as well. Of course, it uses Google Gemini as the default AI assistant.

For security, we have a reliable optical under-display fingerprint scanner that works fast and accurately. The face unlock was very seamless, too.

realme’s GT Boost game optimization feature is activated the moment you open a game.
The game window is easily accessible to switch between performance modes, see real-time CPU and GPU usage, fps counter, thermals, and access to notification blocker, AI Motion Control, and more.
realme nailed the user interface on the realme GT 7, even more so on this special Dream Edition.
Cameras
The realme GT 7 has a 50-megapixel main camera that uses a 1/1.56-inch IMX906 sensor with optical image stabilization, 47mm equivalent, and f/2.0 aperture. It is joined by a 50-megapixel S5KJN5 sensor with a 2x telephoto 47mm lens and f/2.0 aperture.

Compared to the first two, there’s a lower-resolution 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 16mm equivalent and f/2.2 aperture. A sharp 32-megapixel selfie camera is on the front.
It can shoot up to 4K videos at 30fps/60fps, and slow-mo videos of up to 4K at 120fps or 720p at 240fps.

Daylight shots from the 50-megapixel main camera are sharp with little to no visible artificial sharpening. The dynamic range is top-notch, and the colors look nice and natural without any dramatic post-processing.

The main camera held its ground in low-light and indoor shots. They are properly exposed, have good dynamic range and colors, and have enough details.

We had a fun time shooting with the 50-megapixel telephoto lens. It has a native 2x zoom with a 47mm equivalent and 5x at 113mm. Apart from taking portraits, the focal length lets you frame your shots better with fewer distractions from the foreground.
As for the image quality, they are definitely great. Details could be slightly better, but the colors and dynamic range are akin to the main camera.

The 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera is a major dip from the two 50-megapixel shooters.
Still, you’d get the most from what the sensor offers. It has nice colors, well-exposed, usable low-light performance, and the barrel distortion was handled well.

Image quality from the 32-megapixel front camera is nice, but not as good as the main shooters. While the skin tones, exposure, and dynamic range are clean, the details could be sharper especially in low light.

The realme GT 7 is a fun camera phone to shoot with, especially if you’re a traveler or just an aspiring creator. While the ultra-wide and selfie shooters could be better, the main and telephoto lenses do more than enough to make up for it. And considering it’s not a camera-centric smartphone, we have to recommend realme for doing a good job with it.
Battery and Charging
The biggest feature of the realme GT 7 is the massive7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery paired with a whopping 120W SUPERVOOC charging.

Unsurprisingly, the GT 7 has a great battery life. In fact, it has one of the highest battery scores we’ve ever gotten in our tests and has beaten everyone in the high-end category.
It lasted 21 hours and 16 minutes in our PCMark battery loop test and a whopping 21 hours and 27 minutes in our 1080p YouTube Video Loop test. It could easily last for two to three days of light to moderate use.

The large 7,000mAh is the most apt capacity to be paired with realme’s 120W SUPERVOOC charging. A full charge took just half an hour — much faster than phones with a smaller battery. See the full battery test results below:
- 15mins: 0-45%
- 30mins: 99%
- 30mins 30secs: FULL
Verdict
The realme GT 7 is one of the most lavish phones from the company — even more so with this special Dream Edition. The Aston Martin F1 team-inspired package comes with an elegant package and a distinct design that carries over to the interface.

Of course, there’s the extra-large battery that can easily last you for days of light to moderate use. Best part is, it’s been paired with a glazing-fast 120W fast charging that can fill it up in no time — perfect for those who are always on the go.
We also got great main and telephoto cameras, good display and stereo speakers, and a fast and flagship-like performance for day-to-day tasks, multitasking, and gaming.

However, for its price, we feel like having a flagship-like performance is not enough. Shelling out this amount of money should already get you a true flagship processor like the Snapdragon 8 Elite. That’s not to say that it doesn’t have adequate performance, but there could be something a little bit better.
Nevertheless, the realme GT 7 Dream Edition is not like any other smartphone in its segment. F1 and Aston Martin fans would definitely appreciate this limited-edition release. If you appreciate its nice package, long battery life, and unique design, the realme GT 7 Dream Edition is a good smartphone under Php40k.
