Sporting an interchangeable camera island, the realme GT8 Pro makes its debut.
No, not an interchangeable lens, just the shape of the camera island. The realme GT8 Pro lets you change the shape of the camera area into a square, a round, or visor. But if you want further customization, realme has published a 3D printing model file so you can make your own.
The camera casing is conveniently attached using magnets and secured using two Torx screws.
Oh, and this device is also realme’s first collaboration with Japanese camera maker Ricoh. The GT8 Pro comes with a Ricoh-tuned 50-megapixel main camera and supports Ricoh GR equivalent focal lengths of 28mm and 40mm.
Ricoh also shared five of its classic color tones: Standard, Positive, Negative, High Contrast, Black and White, and Monochrome.
We also have a 200-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom with a 65mm equivalent. This ISOCELL HP5 Samsung sensor also boasts 12x lossless zoom and dual-axis optical image stabilization.
Of course, we also have a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 32-megapixel lens for selfies.
Moving on from the cameras, the realme GT8 Pro is powered by a powerful flagship chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. It also has realme’s own R1 graphics chips.
An extra-bright 4,000-nit display is on the front, which uses a 6.79-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a high 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR. It ships with Android 16-based realme UI 7.
We also got an extra-large 7,000mAh silicon-carbon display with a whopping 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. It is also IP66/68/69 dust and water-resistant.
The realme GT8 Pro starts at CNY3,999 (~Php32,800) for the 12GB/256GB and goes up to CNY5,199 (~Php42,600) for the top-tier 16GB/1TB model. It is now up for pre-order in China, with global release details yet to be known.
