Samsung just held its big Unpacked event and introduced its latest foldables. For now, we’ll be focusing on the cream of the crop, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7.
While the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 failed to claim the title of being the slimmest foldable phone on the market, it’s still considerably thinner than its predecessor. From 12.1mm, it’s now only 8.9mm thick and is just 0.1mm shy of the current title holder.

Samsung has upgraded the cover display with a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel with a wider aspect ratio of 21:9. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.
Meanwhile, the large 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x foldable panel is equipped with Samsung’s Vision Booster and up to 2600 nits of peak brightness. The main screen is also thinner, lighter, and stronger thanks to a Titanium play layer.

The device’s new Armor FlexHinge adds to the weight reduction as it’s now thinner and lighter, thanks to an improved water droplet design and a new multi-rail structure that reduces creasing and improves durability.
Samsung also used a new Armor Aluminum material to toughen up the frame and the hinge.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite that was slightly modified for the Z Fold7. Sadly, the battery capacity remains at 4,400mAh and charging with abysmal speeds of 25W.
It is one of the first phones to ship with Android 16-based One UI 8, equipped with features that maximize the form factor. The Galaxy AI has been optimized for large screens, and Side-by-Side Edition and Show Original make photo editing easier.

The Z Fold7 also gets a substantial upgrade for the main camera. It now uses a 200-megapixel main sensor, joined by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and 10-megapixel telephoto lenses. Both displays will get their own 10-megapixel selfie cameras.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 has a starting price of Php112,990 in the Philippines for the 12GB/256GB model, Php120,990 for the 12GB/512GB, and Php141,990 for the 16GB/1TB variant.
