TECNO unveiled its latest entry-level device, the Spark 40. Launched along with the Spark 40 Pro+ and Pro, the smartphone comes with improved battery capacity, faster charging, and a better display.
The TECNO Spark 40 features a 6.67-inch display with a 120Hertz refresh rate. There’s also an 8-megapixel front camera and a 50-megapixel AI rear shooter at the back.
Under the hood, the device comes powered by a MediaTek Helio G81, up to 8GB of RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. It runs the latest Android 15.
One key feature of the Spark 40 is its durability, as it is IP64 dust and water resistant. It is also drop-resistant as it can withstand up to 1.5m of falling.
TECNO Spark 40’s battery capacity has been increased to 5,200mAh from 5,000mAh of its predecessor. According to TECNO, the device can endure over 2,000 charge cycles, and even after 5 years of usage, the battery capacity will remain at least 80%. There is also the fast 45W wired charging, which can charge the device to 100% in only 55 minutes.
Another feature of the new Spark 40 is FreeLink, which provides free calls even without network coverage. It also comes with new AI features such as Ask Ella, AI Writing, and AI Translate.
The TECNO Spark 40 is available in four colors, namely Ink Black, Titanium Grey, Veil White, and Mirage Blue. It retails in Uganda for UGX479,000 (~Php7,500) There is no information yet on whether the phone will be available in the Philippines.
