vivo’s latest flagship, the vivo X500, has been introduced in China.
The vivo X500 is the cheapest of vivo’s new flagship line, which also consists of the X500 Pro and the X500 Pro Max. This one is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9600M processor, which is said to be simply a rebranded Dimensity 9500, instead of being completely new and more powerful like the Dimensity 9600 Pro that the X500 Pro models have.
On the upside, it has a bigger 7,500mAh battery than the X500 Pro’s 6,510mAh. It also has the same 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
It comes with a fairly standard 6.59-inch 2K AMOLED display with an extra smooth 144Hz refresh rate and 4,000 nits of peak brightness.
While its bigger brothers enjoy a custom main sensor and support for the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra, the X500 still has a respectable set of cameras. There’s the 50-megpaixel LYTIA 828 main shooter, 64-megapixel telephoto, and 50-megapixel JN1 ultra-wide.
It will also ship with Android 17-based OriginOS 7 and has received an IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance rating.
The vivo X500 is available in 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, and 12GB/1TB configurations in China with a starting price of CNY5,499 (~Php51,300).
