For anyone wanting a big screen experience without a giant television, portable projectors have been a go-to solution. However, their small size often means the sound quality suffers. Anker’s Soundcore brand is tackling this exact problem with its new Nebula P1 projector, which features a unique set of detachable speakers.
This speaker concept isn’t entirely new for Anker. The company also announced a high-end model called the Nebula X1 Pro, which also has detachable speakers. However, that model is not available to buy yet, and it will carry a steep price of $5,000 (~Php290,000). In contrast, the Nebula P1 brings a similar detachable speaker idea in a more portable and much more affordable package.
The main attraction of the slightly more affordable Soundcore Nebula P1 is its two speakers. They attach to the sides of the projector using magnets. More importantly, you can detach them and put them anywhere else in your room. This design aims to create a wider, more immersive sound experience than what most small projectors can offer.

Once detached, the Nebula P1’s speakers are wireless and can last for up to 20 hours on a single charge. It is important to note that the projector itself does not have a built-in battery, so you have to plug it into a wall outlet or an external power source to use it. Since this requirement limits its true portability, Anker is promoting a bundle that includes the projector with one of its portable power stations.
As for the video quality, the Soundcore Nebula P1 offers 1080P Full HD resolution and a brightness of 650 ANSI Lumens. It can project an image as large as 180 inches. Setting up a clear picture is designed to be easy. The projector has automatic features that keep the image in focus and correctly shaped. It also includes a built-in 130-degree gimbal, letting you tilt the projector to aim the image in almost any direction, even up towards the ceiling.
