Xiaomi has unveiled the Mijia Robot Vacuum and Mop 7 Max for the Chinese market. The new model takes over from the Robot Vacuum 6 Max, which arrived last year. Buyers can pick between a water tank model and a slim model that supplies water from the top and bottom.

Suction gets a boost on the 7 Max. It pulls 45,000Pa of negative pressure, while the 6 Max managed 35,000Pa. The machine sprays water warmed to 50 degrees Celsius. It does this on its own once it spots a kitchen or bathroom. Xiaomi puts the floor sterilization rate at 99.99 percent.

More than 320 objects and dirt types can be identified by the robot. According to Xiaomi, it tangles with cables less often and changes its cleaning approach based on the mess.

The three robotic arms are still there. They sweep and mop beside walls, corners and furniture. One arm gets to the edges of tables and chairs that the main roller leaves behind. Obstacles up to 6 cm high pose no problem, matching the 6 Max.

A slimmer frame and a built-in 3D area array radar let the 7 Max work under beds and cabinets. Xiaomi has not given a clearance height. The 6 Max could fit into gaps as low as 9.3 cm. As with the 6 Max, mopping and scraping happen together, and dirty water is collected along the way to keep the mop cloth clean.
