The Xiaomi TV Stick 4K 2nd-gen finally comes out two years after its predecessor.
Xiaomi has addressed a couple of problems from the 1st gen to the new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K 2nd Gen. For starters, it finally gained HDR10+ support — a must in today’s media players. Dolby Vision is still here, as well as Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and AV1 decoding for audio.

It also gained 80% CPU and 150% GPU performance boost with its quad-core Cortex-A55 chipset with an ARM Mali-G310 V2 GPU. Albeit, it has the same 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.
Another big upgrade is the Google TV operating system. It is more comprehensive than the old Android TV and unlocks tons of new features. Sadly, it’s still powered by microUSB.

It was also updated to the latest WiFi 6 standard, but the stays at Bluetooth 5.2. Google Cast is also supported.
The remote looks the same as before. It pairs to the stick via Bluetooth so you can use voice commands with its built-in microphone. It also has dedicated buttons for Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and the new Xiaomi TV+ free live TV streaming service.

You can now get the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K 2nd Gen in AliExpress. It is listed for Php2,553.07 with a 46% discount as of writing and is shipping from China. Official availability details in Philippine stores is yet to be announced.
