HyperX has unveiled its latest flagship wireless gaming headset, the Cloud Alpha 2, making an extraordinary claim about its battery life: up to 250 hours on a single full charge.

While that impressive figure drops to around 125 hours when utilizing the headset’s simultaneous Bluetooth connectivity, it still represents more than 10 days of typical use, a significant duration for any wireless headset. The HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 features new multi-layer 53mm drivers designed to minimize distortion and supports spatial audio processing through HyperX’s Ngenuity software.

Hyper X Cloud Alpha 2 falls short of the 300-hour battery life achieved by its 2022 predecessor. However, HyperX positions its unique, eye-catching RGB base station as a major advancement. This control station, described by HyperX as the first of its kind for a wireless gaming headset, features colorful programmable buttons and a large dial. It allows users to adjust audio settings, launch shortcuts, control volume, and switch between connected devices without software.

The headset connects wirelessly via a 2.4GHz USB dongle to Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. Wired connection is required for Xbox compatibility. It includes a detachable 10mm boom microphone but lacks active noise cancellation. HyperX emphasizes comfort through breathable microfiber earpads and memory foam padding on the steel headband.

Priced at $299.99, the HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 is now available for purchase in select regions.
