Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. is stepping into the electric vehicle (EV) charging market through a new deal with V-Green Charging Station Development Philippines Inc. The partnership, announced in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), will bring EV chargers to select Phoenix gas stations across the country.

Under the agreement, Phoenix will lease space to V-Green for installing charging stations. Construction has already started at three Phoenix stations in Luzon, with plans to expand to Davao and Cebu after site assessments.

The move is expected to boost charging accessibility, especially for Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Co. (GSM), which launched its Green GSM EV taxi fleet in the Philippines last June. V-Green provides public charging stations with power outputs ranging from 20 kilowatts (kW) to 250 kW.

This isn’t V-Green’s first major collaboration. In July, the company teamed up with GSM and Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) to develop solar-powered charging stations and share expertise in EV technology and workforce training.
