Epson Philippines is creating real-world environmental change by transforming customer waste into essential items for local schools. The company’s latest sustainability report highlights how global goals are being achieved through local action.

The program collects used ink cartridges and packaging from customers. These materials are then repurposed into practical products like classroom chairs, desks, and construction bricks. This initiative directly supports communities while keeping waste out of landfills.

Epson is making significant strides toward eliminating single-use plastics from its operations by 2025. Offices in the Philippines have already removed bottled water from break areas and discontinued plastic utensils in office kitchens.

Beyond internal measures, Epson is educating the broader community. This year, the company organized environmental workshops across Southeast Asia, drawing more than 1,100 participants from six countries. These sessions focused on practical waste reduction strategies for daily life.

These coordinated efforts are delivering measurable results across the region. Epson’s Southeast Asian operations have achieved an 11 percent reduction in electricity consumption, prevented 664 tons of carbon emissions through smarter shipping, and collected over 1,400 kilograms of plastic waste.
