Philippine e-wallet giant GCash has partnered with Singapore-based digital ordering platform Tablevibe to allow users to order food through the mobile app.

This partnership enables GCash as a means for customers to order food for delivery, pickup, and dine-in at more than 4,000 partner restaurants across the country directly through the Food Hub app feature.

GCash also introduced a scan-to-order feature for easier dine-in ordering using QR codes. It allows customers to browse the menu, place orders, and pay their bill by scanning the QR code using their phones, thereby reducing wait times in restaurants and fast-food establishments.

Customers can also take advantage of exclusive deals, discounted delivery fees, and free deliveries for new users.

“By connecting restaurants with our extensive user base, we’re helping businesses grow sustainably while enhancing convenience for our customers,” said G-Exchange President and CEO Oscar Reyes, Jr.

“This partnership with GCash creates a direct link between our restaurant partners and millions of users, simplifying the food ordering journey and opening new sales opportunities,” said Jeroen Rutten, CEO of Tablevibe.

The service will initially be rolled out to restaurants with more than five outlets.

The entry of GCash into the food ordering space will put it in competition with established food delivery apps, such as foodpanda and GrabFood.
