Ever heard of quantum computers? Those sci-fi-like computers have been challenging the edge of what’s physically possible in computing.
During the first Quantum Conference in the Philippines, titled Quantum Information, Science, & Technology Conference or QISTCon.ph, they unveiled the country’s very first quantum computer – SpinQ 2-qubit quantum computer.

According to its website, the 2-qubit NMR quantum computer from SpinQ was invented in 1998 as an experimental quantum computer, capable of supporting real qubit gate operation.
It has since been used to solve several fundamental quantum algorithms, like Deutsch’s algorithm, Grover’s algorithm, and the HHL algorithm.

This latest step for the Philippines’ quantum computing scene is a step forward towards a better understanding of its potential and future applications.
