HP has introduced a surprising new kind of computer at CES 2026. Called the HP EliteBoard G1a, it is a complete Windows PC built directly into a keyboard.
This design revives an old computing concept for the modern professional. Unlike today’s common all-in-one PCs that house components inside a monitor, HP has miniaturized everything into the keyboard itself. The device is very portable, measuring just 0.7 inches thick and weighing from 1.49 pounds.
HP EliteBoard G1a is built to be both powerful and practical. Users can get it with the latest AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors, including a high-end Ryzen AI 7 350 PRO option made for business tasks. Configurations can include up to 64GB of memory and 2TB of storage. The system can also connect to two separate 4K displays.

A major focus is on easy repairs and upgrades. Key parts like the memory, storage, and battery are housed in modules that can be swapped out by users or IT staff without special tools. This is intended to extend the device’s usable life.
Thoughtful design details address common concerns. An internal cooling system is engineered to keep the keyboard surface cool and quiet during use. You can order it with or without an integrated battery; the battery version provides over 3.5 hours of use on a charge. The keyboard is also spill-resistant and meets military-grade durability testing.
For daily use, it includes a full number pad, adjustable backlighting, and an optional fingerprint reader. Every unit will be finished in Eclipse Gray and will ship with a matching wireless mouse that is already connected out of the box.
HP has not yet shared how much the EliteBoard G1a will cost. All versions are scheduled to go on sale through the HP website this March.
