NVIDIA has rolled out Preset C, a new Performance Mode for DLSS Frame Generation and it’s out now in the NVIDIA App beta. NVIDIA claims up to 35% faster frame generation processing on the RTX 5060.
NVIDIA Preset C runs on RTX 40 and RTX 50 Series GPUs and RTX Spark laptops. Frame Generation, Multi Frame Generation, and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation are all supported.
Frame Generation usually depends on two AI models. One reads motion data from the game. The other computes optical flow for elements like UI and ray traced reflections. Preset C replaces the second model with a lighter algorithm, which shortens processing time per frame.

The test setup used an RTX 5060 8GB, a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and 64GB of DDR5 memory, running Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p with Medium Ray Tracing and Balanced DLSS. With Frame Generation off, the card hit 83 FPS. In 2X mode, it went from 120 FPS to 132 FPS, roughly a 10% gain. In 4X mode, it climbed from 197 FPS to 244 FPS, about 24% up. In 6X mode, it jumped from 255 FPS to 348 FPS, around 36% higher.
The 35% figure comes from 6X mode. Higher multipliers deliver larger gains.
NVIDIA says image quality dips slightly but gave no specifics. No release date for the final version.
To turn on Preset C, update the NVIDIA App, then go to Settings and About and opt in to beta features. Install the beta, open the Graphics tab, and pick a supported game or use Global Settings. From there, go to Driver Settings, click DLSS Override – Model Presets, then Custom, and choose Preset C under Frame Generation before hitting Apply. Restart your system if the option does not appear. A different Preset C also exists under Super Resolution, so make sure you select the one in the Frame Generation menu.
