Data from International Data Corporation (IDC) report showed a slowdown in the Philippine PC Market, which includes desktops, notebooks, and workstations. It is down by 12.2% (617 thousand units) in Q1 of 2025.
Associate research analyst of IDC Philippines, Roben Dispo, said that the decline was because of the drop in education-related purchases. This didn’t come as a surprise since the three-year fulfillment of the Department of Education Computerization Program from 2022 to 2024 has already ended. The said program drove the purchases of education-related shipments last year.
For Q1 of 2025, Acer leads the Philippine PC market, followed by Lenovo, HP, ASUS, and Dell. Acer, Lenovo, and HP dominated both the commercial and consumer segments, while ASUS was mainly in the consumer space.

Acer has 24.1% market share for the first quarter of 2025, while Lenovo has 20%, and HP Inc. with 15.3% market share. Meanwhile, in the fourth place is ASUS with 14% market share.

Despite the decline in the education segment, the private sector continued its strong momentum, especially in the BPO industry, buying new PCs to replace those from the time of the pandemic. The growth from the business sector is expected to grow for the rest of 2025. On the other hand, the consumer market is expected to grow, albeit at a much slower pace.
