Ayaneo has introduced the world’s first dual-screen flip Android handheld gaming console, the Ayaneo Pocket DS. Those who miss the form factor of the Nintendo DS would really like this one.
The main display of the Ayaneo Pocket DS is a fast 7-inch FHD OLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and supports HDR. The secondary panel is a 5-inch panel with a retro 4:3 aspect ratio with a respectable resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
That second screen is used for performance monitoring, adjusting the settings, and quick toggles while in-game.
Under the hood, we have a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 processor with a “PC-Class” cooling fan for stable performance. It runs on a custom Android 13 UI for running Android games.
The device also has different performance modes, from Power Saving to Max Performance, and can be instantly switched via the dedicated Turbo button.
Keeping the lights on is an 8,000mAh battery with PD charging. Ayaneo also highlighted its premium CNC metal build.
For controls, we have TM medium joysticks with a 1000Hz polling rate, linear hall-effect triggers, and more.
Connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3, and a full-function USB-C 3.2 with 10Gbps speeds.
