Wolcen Studio has officially revealed its new game, “Gods, Death & Reapers,” previously known by its working title “Project Pantheon.”

The game is a free-to-play, dark fantasy extraction RPG inspired by mythology. It is set in a world based on Norse myths where the gods have disappeared and realms have fallen into chaos. Players are chosen by death itself to help restore balance.

Gods, Death & Reapers combines the fast-paced action of a top-down hack-and-slash game with the high-risk, high-reward mechanics of an extraction shooter. Players will prepare for missions in a personal hub called the Sanctuary, where they can customize their gear and loadouts.

The core loop involves venturing out on missions to face deadly enemies and other players in a PvPvE (Player vs. Player vs. Environment) environment. The main goal is to collect loot and successfully extract from the mission. If a player dies before extracting, they lose all the items they were carrying. Successfully extracted loot can be kept, used, or traded.

The game will feature quests, powerful weapons, armor, and artifacts to collect. Wolcen Studio also confirmed that future updates will add new maps, player trading, and additional modes. Importantly, the developers recently announced that the game will not be limited to extraction matches. A single-player story campaign and PVE co-op missions are also planned, allowing players to team up with a friend to share both the risks and rewards.

The studio emphasizes that it is developing the game in collaboration with the community, using player feedback and ongoing playtesting.

A closed alpha test for Gods, Death & Reapers, labeled Alpha 3.1, is now live. It started recently and will be available to participants through August 24, 2025. Those interested can request access through the game’s official Steam page.
