Online libel continues to be the most-reported cybercrime in the Philippines, as per the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC).

On the upside, DICT reported that cybercrime cases dropped by 38 percent in 2025.
From March 20, 2013, to October 31, 2025, the department recorded 85,595 cybercrime cases nationwide. From 14,529 cases last year, DICT only recorded 8,987 this year.
From November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2025, the CICC filed 2,933 cases in court, with 252 individuals convicted and 1,068 warrants served.
The DICT highlighted the need to maintain monitoring and enforcement to help fight cybercrimes, especially during the holiday season.
