Here’s a quick tip on how you can prevent Facebook from possibly using photos stored on your phone to train Meta AI.

A report from a few months ago alleges that Facebook plans to use photos sitting on your gallery to train Meta AI for features like AI generators, collages, filters, etc.

While it’s not clear if it’s ever going to be implemented, there are two settings within Facebook that you can disable to make sure all your private photos remain safe and untouched by Facebook.

The first one is called “Get camera roll suggestions when you’re browsing Facebook,” and is followed by “Get creative ideas made for you by allowing camera roll cloud processing.”

You can disable them by going to the Menu on your Facebook app > Settings and Privacy > Find the “Camera roll sharing suggestions” and disable the two items.

Leaving then enabled gives Meta permission to harvest photos from your camera roll on an “ongoing basis.”

“We’ll choose media based on info like time, location, themes, and presence of people or objects,” as per the Settings. This means that Meta can take your photos and analyze them without notifying you.
