Apple has officially released the iPhone 17 series. For today, we’ll be focusing on the base model, the iPhone 17.
The iPhone 17 joins the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, and the all-new iPhone 17 Air. It is powered by an Apple A19 chip based on a 3nm process, with a 16-core Neural Engine for better AI. It will only be available in 256GB and 512GB storage options.
We still have a compact 6.3-inch display that uses an LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED panel and is protected by Ceramic Shield Glass, which is now 3x tougher. It has a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate, a big upgrade.
The Always-On Display drops to 1Hz for improved battery savings. The screen has a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The 7-layer coating improves readability, eliminating glare better.
It has the same camera layout on the back, which holds the 48-megapixel main shooter and a 48-megapixel ultra-wide. The front camera gains Center Stage technology with a wider lens and a square and 2x bigger sensor, allowing you to switch between portrait or landscape more easily.
The best part is that Apple claims it now lasts 8 hours longer while watching videos. Wired charging is at 30W while wireless is 25W.
Pricing and availability in the Philippines shall be announced soon. But, the iPhone 17 is now listed on the company’s website with a price of Php57,999 for the 256GB model and 512GB for the Php72,990.
