The long-rumored, highly anticipated, slimmest iPhone has finally been announced. Meet the iPhone Air.
Apple has announced the iPhone Air alongside the iPhone 17, as well as the iPhone 17 Pro series which shares the same Apple A19 Pro chipset. There’s the new Apple N1 chip, the company’s own modem for more power-efficient connectivity. It can be had with up to a 1TB of storage
It only has a single 48-megapixel main camera, but it uses a sensor sharp enough for 2x telephoto shot. It does boast a 6.6-inch display with 120Hz ProMotion technology and uses a tougher glass that also reduces glare.
Easily, its best feature is its ultra-thin design. The new iPhone is only 5.6mm thick, which is much thinner than most phones that average at around 8mm. This should make it incredibly nice in the hands.
As per Apple, they used a high-density battery — possibly silicon-carbon — and tons of software and hardware optimizations for better efficiency, allowing it to last for up to 27 hours on a single charge.
Apple also boasts that it is IP68 dust and water resistant and will ship with the latest iOS 26 operating software. It has Ceramic Shield in front and back, sandwiching the metal frame ensuring it stays durable despite the thin profile. Oh, and Camera Control is also here..
Apple notably removed the physical SIM slot and only relies on eSIM. A move that’s been long-rumored, as Apple apparently plans to end physical SIMs on iPhones completely.
The official availability details for the iPhone Air in the Philippines are yet to be announced. However, the local prices are now listed on the Apple website:
