Acer has announced a new thin and light laptop, the Swift Air 16, designed as a Copilot+ PC for professionals who need power and portability.
The Acer Swift Air 16‘s standout feature of this new model is its weight. Built with a magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis, the laptop weighs just 2.18 pounds, or less than one kilogram. Despite its large 16-inch screen, this makes it one of the lightest laptops available in its size category.
At the heart of the device is the new AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series processor. It can be configured with up to an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 chip, which is built to handle artificial intelligence tasks directly on the device. This is meant to make AI applications more responsive while using less power. The laptop can be equipped with up to 32GB of DDR5 memory and 1TB of SSD storage.

As a Copilot+ PC, it runs on Windows and includes several exclusive AI features. These are called Recall, which helps users find past activity on their PC; Click to Do, which automates tasks; and an Improved Windows Search function. Acer says these tools are designed to improve collaboration, content creation, and overall productivity.
The Acer Swift Air 16 offers a choice between two displays. The high-end option is a 16-inch WQXGA+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, support for the DCI-P3 color standard, and a peak brightness of 400 nits. The other option is a WUXGA IPS panel with a 60Hz refresh rate. Both screens have a 16:10 aspect ratio.
For video calls, the laptop includes a 2-megapixel full HD infrared camera with a physical privacy shutter. The camera supports Windows Hello for secure facial recognition login. It is accompanied by dual microphones and dual speakers.

For connectivity, the laptop provides two USB Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Type-A port, an HDMI 1.4 port, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth.
Acer has positioned the Swift Air 16 as a machine for a variety of tasks, including video conferencing, streaming, editing, and creative work. Pricing and specific availability dates have not yet been announced.
