Design and Build Quality

The new Yoga 7i is easily one of the sleekest and most elegant work laptops we’ve seen. You can confidently rock this at the office, coworking spaces, coffee shops, and even in classrooms.

It has a distinct faux-leather lid that’s incredibly chic, adds an elegant appeal, and feels really nice to the touch.

Plus, it’s so thin and light that it can easily fit in a small bag. It’s available in Luna Grey and Sea Shell color options.

However, it can be too heavy to be used as a tablet, but that’s the inevitable compromise you have to settle for when getting a convertible laptop.

Speaking of convertible, this one has a well-built 360-degree hinge, so you can flip it all the way to use it in tablet mode, or open it at 60 degrees so it stands comfortably when watching movies — just make sure you don’t scratch the keyboard when you lay it on the table.

The aluminum body feels very solid and compact. We really can’t ask for more.

Display and Audio

The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 has a 14-inch QUXGA OLED display. It has a 1920 x 1200 resolution, 400-nit peak brightness, 100% sRGB and P3, Dolby Vision, and 10-point touchscreen. It also supports the Yoga Pen.

Display quality has been fairly good for overall, whether you’re watching movies, doing basic tasks, or even some photo and video editing.

It has the right amount of sharpness and color accuracy to do anything. Although we’re very annoyed with the lack of an anti-glare coating, as it’s very reflective.

For the audio, the Yoga 7i 2-in-1 has 4x 2W speakers, 4 microphones with 3D array, and supports Dolby Atmos.

The speakers are satisfactory, but definitely inferior to the top dogs, like those from MacBooks. It has clean and nice treble, with audible bass, but lacks depth.

Hardware and Performance

The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 is powered by a 2.1GHz Intel Core Ultra 5 226V processor, with 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD storage, and an 8GB Intel Arc 130V GPU.

We got very solid performance out of this convertible laptop. It’s fast and snappy for tasks like web browsing, writing articles, doing spreadsheets and presentations, and even in photo and video editing.

There are also no thermal issues to report. You should also be able to do some light gaming on some basic or older titles, but it’s definitely not made for hardcore gamers.

Software and User Interface

The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 comes with the Windows 11 Home operating system. It’s a Copilot+ PC, so you get many AI features Microsoft has to offer.

Lenovo Vantage continues to be one of our favorite management tools. It gives you access to almost everything about the laptop: serial and product numbers, battery health, warranty, and even adjusting settings like the power modes, keyboard backlight, and more.

The keyboard, as with other Lenovo laptops, feels smooth, cushioned, and tactile. Although the up and down buttons are uncomfortably small, they are expected for laptops this size.

Lenovo-Yoga-7i-2-in-1-Gen-10-Trackpad

Lenovo has included a reliable trackpad, which has an ample size, a smooth surface, and has good precision.

The fingerprint scanner was fast and accurate. The IR webcam also supports Windows Hello, so you can access your laptop faster with facial recognition.

The webcam has decent quality for video calls, meetings, conferences, and online classes.

Connectivity

The Lenovo Yoga 7i is equipped with the latest WiFi 7 connectivity and Bluetooth 5.3.

For the ports, the left side has the HDMI 1.4b, USB-C Thunderbolt 4 (up to 40Gbps, DisplayPort 1.4a, PD 3.0), and 3.5mm headphone/mic combo jack.

On the right, we have the USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, another USB-C Thunderbolt 4 (up to 40Gbps), and microSD card reader.

The port selection is not much, but it is wide enough for a portable laptop. However, most creatives (especially photographers) would appreciate an SD card reader instead of a microSD slot.

Battery and Charging

The Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 10 has a 71WHr battery with a 65W USB-C charger.

Lenovo-Yoga-7i-2-in-1-Gen-10-Review-5873

Battery life was pretty solid. Not as long as Qualcomm-powered laptops, but still up there. It can easily last you for 6 to 8 hours of mixed use, or up to 15 hours of continuous use like video playback.

Verdict

Lenovo has created an incredible tablet with a surprisingly good value with the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1. For starters, it has a stunning and durable design that’s already enough to justify its price tag.

More than that, you’re also treated to a gorgeous display, a solid all-around performance, good speakers, long battery life, and a decent variety of port selection.

That’s on top of offering the flexibility of having a 360-degree hinge and touchscreen, allowing you to work anywhere by using it like a tablet.

However, we’re really annoyed by how reflective the screen is, especially when working outdoors or in coffee shops with tons of windows. Oh, and it goes without saying that it’s not made for hardcore gaming.

Still, the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 10 is a great buy for its asking price.
