Filipino shoppers can now get Netflix access when they sign up for Shopee‘s upgraded VIP plan.
The new tier, called ShopeeVIP+, launched today in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand. It is the first time Netflix has partnered with an online shopping platform in this part of Asia.
The service costs Php140 per month if you sign up for multiple months. A one-month plan is Php169.
For that price, members can watch Netflix on their phones or tablets. They also receive:
- Unlimited free delivery with no minimum spend
- Daily discount coupons
- 20% off some products
The subscription also includes extras from Canva Pro, ChatGPT Go, and Duolingo.
People who already have the regular Shopee VIP plan can move to VIP+ by paying an additional Php41 each month. This gives them more vouchers and interest-free payments through SPayLater.
Users can subscribe right inside the Shopee app. Just go to your profile page, find the ShopeeVIP icon, and pick the VIP+ option. Choose your Netflix plan, complete the payment, and you will get a confirmation. Members can stick with the mobile plan or upgrade to higher Netflix tiers.
Shopee said the idea is to combine useful shopping perks with entertainment in one simple package. Netflix, meanwhile, wants to reach more viewers across the region by teaming up with a popular platform.
