At this week’s CES 2026 tech show, smartphone maker Infinix launched its Note 60 series with a headline-grabbing feature: the world’s first system for global satellite calling on a smartphone.

While satellite SOS features are now common on premium phones, Infinix is pushing the technology further. The company says its system is designed as an “anywhere” connection for regular voice calls and texting, moving beyond just emergency use.

According to Infinix, the feature covers nearly two-thirds of the Earth’s surface. It works automatically without requiring users to sign up for a separate service. The phone can switch between standard cellular networks and the satellite connection on its own to maintain a link in areas with no traditional signal.

The data speed for satellite calls is limited to 4 kilobits per second. However, Infinix states its software is optimized to still provide clear HD voice calls and two-way SMS over that slow connection.

Beyond satellite tech, Infinix is targeting gamers with a new cooling system. The Note 60 series is the first to use the “HydroFlow” liquid cooling architecture. It uses dual pumps to move coolant and pairs with an unusual fan. Instead of spinning blades, this fan has ultra-thin sheets just 0.1 millimeters thick that vibrate 25,000 times per second to dissipate heat. The company claims this design is more efficient for long gaming or AI tasks.

For gaming accessories, Infinix showed a split controller with a pressure-sensitive touchpad and wireless magnetic triggers that use mouse-grade switches.

The phone’s design includes interactive materials on the back panel. Using photochromic leather and thermochromic ink, the phone can change colors or display simple animations in response to light and temperature.

Infinix also introduced a modular ecosystem called “AI Module Universe.” These magnetic accessories clip onto the phone and include a translation module for calls, a vlogging camera with AI tracking, a professional microphone, and an expandable battery pack named StackPower.

The company has not yet announced pricing or a specific release date for the Note 60 series, which includes a Note 60 Ultra model.
