ChatGPT creator OpenAI has introduced a new, low-cost subscription plan specifically for users in India. The plan, named ChatGPT Go, is priced at 399 Indian rupees per month (~Php270).

This move is seen as a strategy to attract more users in India, which is OpenAI’s second-largest market by number of users, trailing only behind the United States. And according to Sam Altman, India could probably become its biggest market soon.

The ChatGPT Go plan offers significant upgrades over the free version. Subscribers can send and generate 10x more messages and images. Subscribers could also expect quicker response times from the AI. The company stated that this plan is designed for Indians who want better access to ChatGPT’s advanced features without a high subscription cost.

For comparison, OpenAI’s mid-range plan, ChatGPT Plus, costs $20 per month (~Php1,350). Its most powerful top tier plan, ChatGPT Pro, is priced at $200 per month (~Php13,450).

ChatGPT Go’s release date and pricing in other regions are still unknown, but OpenAI said that it might be made available to other countries in the future.
