Amazon has unveiled a new lineup of tablets made just for children. The new Amazon Kids Tablets come in two sizes and two age-based versions, one for kids 3 and older and one for kids 6 and up.

Each tablet runs on Android and includes a kid-proof case, a free one-year Amazon Kids+ subscription, and built-in parental controls. The Kids+ plan features content from LEGO, Disney, Sesame Street, Nickelodeon, and Harry Potter. Parents can manage everything through the Amazon Kids Parent Dashboard, which is already installed on each device and also works as a free app on iOS and Android. From there, parents can set time limits, filter content, and check on activity from their own phone.

The tablets are made to grow with kids. Younger children get a soft bumper case, while older ones get a slim hard case. Case designs include characters like Barbie, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Paw Patrol.

The 8.7-inch model has a vivid screen, up to 14 hours of video playtime, and 64 GB of storage. The 11-inch model comes with a 2.5K display, 8 GB of RAM, and stylus support for drawing and homework.

A new Kids+ feature called Storybuilder lets kids use their voice to create characters and plots, then turns their ideas into picture books and comic books. Amazon says guardrails keep everything age-appropriate. Parents can also see what their kids make through the Parent Dashboard.

Because the tablets run on Android, parents can control access to Google Play through the dashboard. Every app download needs parental approval.
