Eufy has unveiled a new high-tech outdoor security camera designed to keep a nearly unblinking eye on your property. The EufyCam S4 was introduced at the IFA tech show in Germany.

What makes the S4 stand out is its unique three-lens system. It uses one fixed 4K wide-angle camera with a 130-degree view for general monitoring. When its sensors detect movement, two additional 2K cameras activate. These cameras can pan, tilt, and zoom to automatically track a person from up to 164 feet away. The system can also zoom out to keep an entire group in the frame. With a 360-degree tracking ability, it is designed to make it very difficult for an intruder to go unseen.

To cut down on false alerts, the S4 uses a dual detection system. It combines radar technology and passive infrared (PIR) sensing to tell the difference between moving humans, vehicles, and other objects like animals. If a person is detected, the camera can activate red and blue warning lights and sound a siren to scare them off.

The camera can work on its own, but it can also be paired with Eufy’s HomeBase S380 smart hub, which is sold separately. This hub uses what Eufy calls BionicMind AI for facial recognition, which the company claims is 99.9 percent accurate. It also boosts the camera’s local storage capacity to a massive 16 terabytes.

For power, the EufyCam S4 has a clever solution. It comes with a built-in, detachable 5.5-watt solar panel. Eufy states that just one hour of direct sunlight is enough to fully charge the camera’s built-in battery. Because the panel is detachable, owners can position it in the sunniest spot for the best results.

The EufyCam S4 is priced at $300 (~Php17,500) and is scheduled to go on sale later this year. Eufy will also sell bundles that include multiple cameras and the HomeBase S380.
